Exceptions (Exigent Circumstances)

In some cases, officers can search or raid a property without a warrant under exigent circumstances, such as: Imminent danger to life or public safety, Risk of destruction of evidence and Hot pursuit of a suspect

If officers conduct a raid legally and find illegal firearms, the evidence can be used in court to support criminal charges. However, if the raid is carried out without proper legal authority (e.g., no warrant or insufficient probable cause), any evidence collected might be challenged and potentially excluded from the case.

Therefore, possession of an illegal firearm can indeed be a significant factor that justifies a house raid, especially if there are other factors that support the need for a search.
